I graduated in May, 2018 with a master's degree in data science and analytics through a new online and on campus program at the University of Missouri. Below are some projects I've been working on as part of my degree and my independent project on Pennsylvania crash data.
Pennsylvania's Helmet Law
During my summer data science project, I began looking into publicly available crash data from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. I plan to continue working with the data for my capstone, but my summer work focused on looking at the change in motorcycle deaths since the state's helmet law was repealed. In a series of three short storiesI worked with a reporter to analyze data and report our findings.
In my advanced data visualization class we created several interactive graphics and dashboards using Shiny from R Studio. I'm taking an advanced data visualization class in the spring that will include animations.
